4/12/2017 0 Comments A Life of Dreams![]() Dreams are something that you have all experienced, but before I launch into that, I would like to tell you a little of my history with dreaming. I remember an evening in February 2006 (while I Karen Pond lived in England) on which I was sitting with two of my good friends having a friendly conversation when one of them said something about dreams coming from God. I immediately disputed that opinion. I knew that everyone had dreams. I knew that dreaming was our mind’s way of filing what we had seen, done, and felt during the day. As far as I was concerned that meant that dreams were merely a natural function of the human body. Of course, God did not mind that I had a different opinion to Him. He gave me dreams anyway! In October 2006, a few months after we were married, Timothy and I moved to Kelowna, BC and I found myself surrounded by people who all believed that dreams came from God. So, I allowed myself to entertain the idea that perhaps my friend had been correct, maybe God did give dreams. Well, God confirmed this to me personally by giving me a consistent stream of dreams. With the frequency of dreams I was having it was clear that God was trying to get my attention! The dreams took various forms including ones that we would see play out in the natural afterwards. I could no longer dispute the fact that God gave dreams. I, of course, repented for having held a wrong mindset. However, I was now angry with God for talking to me through dreams. Perhaps you might consider me ungrateful, but I had enjoyed the dialogues that I used to have with God and was annoyed that He was now talking to me in dreams where I had no opportunity to join in. He soon showed me, however, that dreams are for us to engage with Him. I was passive in the act of receiving them, but unless I was active in searching out the meaning, then the dream was of no use to me. Again I repented of my attitude and since that time have been learning about dreams, dream language and the interpretation of dreams. I typically have three dreams every night. God uses dreams to teach me about myself, about Himself, and about things that are coming. In the amount that I am faithful with the dreams and revelation that God gives me, He is faithful to provide more.
