Levels in Heaven

Picture

In my blog ‘Spiritual Foundations - Repentance’ I made the following comment: “I do not want to show up in Heaven when it is my time and find out that I chose to sit in the back of Heaven because I was too much in love with the stuff.” I had someone ask me this questions after reading this statement.

What is your understanding of levels/rewards in Heaven?

The scriptures do not go into too much detail on this subject, but we do see Jesus’ disciples asking Jesus if they can sit on His right or left in Heaven.  Jesus said to them that the Father would assign these spots.  This states that there is different seating or places in Heaven according to the way the Father sees it.
Let me share what God has shown me on the subject, and then you can judge it from there: What we do here on earth determines where we are placed and what we do in Heaven.  First one needs to ask the question of what they think they will be doing in Heaven when they get there.  Most people have not thought about it, or if they have, there seems to be no grid for what happens in Heaven.  If you spend some time in scripture looking up about Heaven, you find that it talks a bit about what will take place when we get there, but you need to search it out.

So what the Lord has shown me is if we do well here on earth then we will be placed well in Heaven but those who do not do what they are called to do here on earth will find that they are in the back of Heaven.  What I mean by that is where we live and where we gather.  God determines where we are in Heaven based upon our response to Him on the earth.  The Lord showed me when I became a new Christian that our time on earth was the introduction to life, and what we do not learn here we will need to learn there in Heaven.  So let’s make sure that we take the time to learn what we are called to learn and help others around us to determine what they need to learn.  It is not about getting saved into Heaven.  If that were the case, we would die right after we got saved.  No, it is about making disciples, and we will be judged on how well we have done.

There are many levels in Heaven and rewards.  Read Revelations 2-3, and you will see that there are seven rewards mentioned just in those chapters.  If we do what God has laid out for us, then we will be rewarded very well and depending on how we fulfil our calling will determine on what level we sit at in Heaven.  This is the way God has shown me, and I have heard of many others who have seen the same thing in more details and less.  What matters in the long run while we are here on the earth is not to miss out on what God has called us to do.  We will reap what we have sown.  God did say to build up our treasures in Heaven and not on the earth, and what I have spoken about is just that.  Too many think it is about receiving here on earth when it is about living out eternity with God in Heaven.

Don't Limit God

Picture

Are you limiting God?  Do you list reasons why God cannot speak to you in dreams? Perhaps you do not get much sleep each night so you think God can’t speak to you through them.  Or maybe you are pregnant and so write off all your dreams.  Well, these are excuses, and you are limiting what you believe about God.

Let’s start with pregnancy. Do you believe that just because you are pregnant that God will choose not to talk to you for nine months?!  Seriously?!  I have five young children, so I know a little on this subject!  I know how crazy dreams can sometimes become during pregnancy. However, I also know that God still speaks to me in dreams.  The important thing is not to write off your dreams.  If you normally receive revelation from God in dreams, then you will already have established a language of communication with God.  If you continue to pay attention to your dreams, then you will know when a dream is a genuine message from God.  Seriously consider each dream you have before you just write it off as a crazy pregnancy dream.

It does not matter how much or how little sleep you get each night, nor how long you sleep for each time, God can still give you a dream.  If you refuse to accept this, then there is a high possibility that you will not accept or acknowledge a dream that He gives you.  Here is an example of how little sleep you truly need to receive a dream from God.  A few weeks ago I woke early in the morning and got up for a few minutes, then when I went back to bed I looked at the clock.  It was 04:24.  I closed my eyes, and amazingly I fell asleep instantly and had a dream.  When I next woke up, I looked at the clock and saw it was 04:26.  I had slept for only 2 minutes, yet I had also dreamt.  Change your perspective.  Think of a night in which you are in and out of sleep as one in which you have many more opportunities to receive dreams as you have many more independent periods of sleep.

There are many other ways in which you could be limiting God.  Check what you believe about God and what He can do.  Remember, He is God and is not restricted by the same things as us!

What to do When You Touch More

Picture

There are times when we are pressing into the Spirit one way or another, and we touch a spot that is new.  This does not happen as often as we like, but it does happen.  The questions that we need to ask are: “what is next?” and “Now what do I do?”  I watch too many people have great encounters and experiences then mark them on their calendar or put a notch on their belt and carry on.  Before they know it time has gone by and what was great is now just a memory or story that they share about what happened back then.

I am here to say that it does not need to be like that.  It is time to add faith with what God is doing on the Earth and go the distance.  We need to learn how to revisit our experiences so that we can go deeper.  Once we have had an experience, it becomes an open door that we can walk into whenever we want, which takes time and lots of energy, but it is well worth it.

So, this week put some time aside to meditate on past experience that you had with God.  Focus on this experience until it becomes alive again.  Then at that moment press into God for more.  Bring that experience into the now so that you can go deeper into a new level.  Honour God for the experience and what He is doing in your life.  Make sure you ask lots of questions to stir things up so that God can show up more intensely, but do not forget to ask about the cost.  There is always a cost for everything, and God does not show off.  He is looking for the ones who will hold His hand and walk the distance with Him.

Are you one who will walk that distance and pay the cost?  Are you?

Pressing in for More

Picture

Do you ever feel that you need more but are not sure what to do to get that more?

You are not alone if you feel that way.  There are times when we know what to do to get it, which makes things easier, but for the most part that is not the case.  The reason for this is because God loves to do new things and what we did last time to press in for more will not necessarily work this time.  There are times in the past when it has been reading lots of scripture or reading anointed books.  Then there is prayer or just sitting in silence and gazing into the Spirit to receive a vision.  The point I am making is that it does not matter what we do but that we are doing something.

I feel from the Lord to decree that it is time to press in for more.  Do not try and do the same as last time but seek God on what will work best for you in this season.  There is more for the taking, but you need to do your part and press in.  If you are waiting for God to show up and hand it to you, then you will be waiting for a long time.  It is time to move into the place of the Spirit where we are walking at God’s level looking down on Earth to see the bigger picture instead of standing on Earth looking up asking why.

The key to remember when pressing in for more is not to try to understand.  That will come in time even if that happens to be years down the road.  Pressing in is not about knowing or having to know everything that is happening around you, but trusting God that He knows what is best, which is the hard part.  I will state prophetically that many are not breaking through and walking where they should be walking because they are trying to do it their way, which will never work.

It is time to stop our busyness in trying to impress God and close our eyes and gaze into the Spirit and see what is next.  If you do not stop and look and take the time to ask questions which will line you up in the right direction, then you will find not much changes.  If you are happy with where you are so be it, but there is always much more, and I see very few walking in what they are called to do.  Do Not Go Without.

Desire over Obedience

Picture

God spoke to me about the power of desire and that it can direct us into great things on our path with God, or lead us off the path to high frustration.  He pointed out to me that many desire what they do not have instead of desiring what they do have, or they desire what they cannot have, and because of this, they do not finish what they have started, which leads them off their path.  It might not lead you right off the path but just to the shoulder.  When this happens, you will find yourself taking a deep breath trying to find out what happened, which means you are now standing still.  That is what leads us away from our walk with God because God is always moving and we are to stay running with Him.

Desire is rooted in feelings while obedience is rooted in faith.  Most are not walking in obedience because their passion does not line up with what they are called to do or they desire something else.  I am not talking about craving sin or something against God.  I am talking about righteous things, great things of God and many have yet to come.  Our walk with God is about obedience not about desire.  Do not get me wrong, desire in its self is not wrong but will lead you in a different direction if it is not lined up with obedience. Because obedience is rooted in faith, it needs to be stronger than a desire, not the other way around.

Here is an example; God has spoken to you about an element of your calling, and you get excited about it, which is an excellent thing.  You begin to walk this out because you have a passion for walking with God in this fashion and being obedient to what God has spoken to you.  A few weeks or months go by, and then you begin to lose the desire to keep doing this because at that moment you are not seeing fruit or any benefit to what you are doing.  So you slowly begin to allow desire to guide you away and no longer become obedient to what God has spoken to you to do.

I share this example with you because I have done this over and over again, so I know how it feels and what it does to one’s walk with God.  The hardest thing about walking through something like this is not knowing what the issues are and continually making them over and over again.  God had taught me the power of desire early on in my walk and how to bring things to Earth that are in Heaven.  The problem with this was I began to use the desire for my gain instead of for the Kingdom of God.  It was so subtle that I was not aware of it.  Just like a frog in water.

Let me say this, and you will not want to hear it, but the stronger the encounter (revelation), the harder this will be.  You might say, “if only an angel brought me this revelation, then it would be easy to walk it out” It would be harder.  “What if I had an open vision?” It would be harder.  “What if I saw God face to face?” It would be harder, harder, harder.  What happens within the encounter is that our emotions get caught up in the moment and once that moment disappears so do our emotions within time.  This is different for everyone, but if you are wired by God to be a feeler, you will find this challenging.

Let’s take a look at what it means to desire in the moment, which is what God was pointing out to me.  God kept it simple for me.  He stated that when he gives me something referring to revelation, that I am not to look to the right or left but to stay focused on the task ahead.  The moment I start looking right or left I begin to see what God has others doing and then my desire towards my responsibility begins to move onto someone else task.  Then within the time I will stop doing what I started and start trying to do somebodies function that was not assigned to me.

If you find that this has happened to you, and you have lost your desire to finish what God has started? Then you need to spend some time getting right with God on this issue and moving back to the task.  If you do this, you will find that desire will show back up.  Remember desire is a feeling that needs to support obedience, not the other way around, which is a big issue in the prophetic circles because if you do not like the revelation given to you, you go and get another prophetic revelation, and this is rooted in selfishness.  For most of us, the last thing we need is another prophetic word but to fulfil the ones that we carry now.  If we do this, then we would not have to worry about our desire getting off focus from what God has called us to do.

Stand in faith and keep your eyes focused on what God wants you doing and fruit will follow.  God always stays true to His Word in His Timing.

Spiritual Perspectives

Picture

Closing your eyes and looking into His and seeing in that moment the whole universe flash before His fiery eyes.  Mouth wide open as things begin to make sense, and at the same time ideas and concepts flow through your mind for the first time.  Like being born and seeing the bright light in the room and people gathering around you making a large fuss.  When you learn to walk with no veil between the seen and the unseen perspectives begin to change very fast.  We have entered into a new season on the Earth and God is continually calling out to many to begin walking or to continue walking Face to Face with the Godhead.  This will look different for everyone, and there is no cookie cutter for walking with God even though much of the church has been taught that there is.  Much of the church has taught; if you do it this way, or do it that way, everything will work great and you will be just like me!  Sorry, but you will find that no two people on the earth will have done it exactly the same way.  That is what makes it so great and so hard at the same time.

The topic of Spiritual Perspectives, if I can call it that, was birthed with my wife and two close friends sitting in the main room in our house around the fireplace.  Our friends had come to spend New Year’s with us to talk about God and enjoy some fellowship.  It was at this time that they challenged me to begin to write down many of things that God has shown me in the Spiritual realm so that others could glean from them, which birthed our blog “Spiritual Perspectives”.  Throughout my writing in both books and blogs, I will build on many of the topics that have been written in my blog with greater detail and more insight with the plan to build an ongoing Blog Book.

I am not trying to re-create the wheel but build on what others are teaching.  My heart is to help others go deep in their walk with God.  I will write on many topics, some you might find helpful and others you will not, but the main point of what God is asking me to do is to help God’s people walk in His perspectives and out of many of the perspectives that we have been living in.  When you see God Face to Face it can change everything if you let it, but you have to let it change you, which for most means: “Stop fighting God”.  As you begin to walk in a greater depth of understanding of God you will know what I mean by fighting with God, because you cannot walk Face to Face with Him unless you truly know the difference between the natural realm and the Spiritual realm and where you happen to be standing in the moment of time.  We all like to think we are Spiritual and think we are doing Spiritual things, where for the most part we are just going through the motions and calling it Spiritual and finding we are no further today than we were last year.  We need to spend less time talking about things we want and learning more on how to take them in the Spirit and then walk them out with God.

The point of me writing is not to make you feel bad but to challenge you into the more so you can grow deeper with the Lord, which will bring great fruit into the earth so that others around you can eat and fall in love with the Lord. You will find throughout my writing that many of the topics overlap yet stand-alone at the same time.  You can read them in any order if you like but the order I have laid them out is the order that God has shown me.  There is always a reason even if we do not understand it at the moment.

I want to share a bit on why I titled the blog “Spiritual Perspectives”.  There are a lot of voices out there saying a lot of things.  Many I agree with and some I do not, and this will also be true for what I write.  I share based on what I have learned from walking with God in the Spirit and I only see in part.  Others will see from a very different perspective and that is great.  We all need to judge what we read; the scriptures tell us that, so we do not take everything at face value.  I tell anyone who walks close to me to ask lots of questions because without asking questions you do not get any answers.

I have had many people ask me about my book, “The Call of Daniel” and yes it is fiction, but I write it with many of the experiences that I have had.  So if you are looking for some great insight on the Spiritual realm and understanding of some of God’s ways then you might want to get a copy and read the book.  I put it in a fiction form to make it easier to read and understand instead of just presenting facts.

walking with god

Picture

I find in my walk with God that I seem to be asking myself many questions.  What does it mean to walk with God?  I find it hard to put down in words what is in my heart and what is rolling around in my mind.  This walk with God seems to be my whole life, but then what is life?  I will say that for me the most significant thing in life is to walk with God.  I cannot say that I walk with all the answers, but I can say that I walk with the one that does.  I believe that we on earth can learn all that we need to learn and not have to wait until we pass on to heaven.

Walking with God will look different for everyone, and will have to do with what they have been called to do.  But this is the only part, and if we do not take up that calling and walk to God, then it will not matter what's are calldoing because one cannot walk with God if he does not choose to walk first to God.  Walking first to God is deciding to come to God and do things His way and the way that the world teaches us.  This looks very different then what most think, and is why most do not walk a close walk with the Lord.  We human’s detriment how close we walk with the Lord, not the other way around.

I say this, but I find myself trying to get closer and closer to the Lord, but cannot seem to get any closer.  I ask the Lord if there is any sin, or am I doing it wrong, but the only answer that I seem to understand is that time is on my side.  I asked myself what does that mean?  I find that time is my best friend and yet can be my worst enemy.  Why is this?  If we walk outside the Lords timing, then we see ourselves fighting against time, but if we are in step with the Lord, then timing is right.  We cannot beat time only work with it.  Time is something that the Lord has given us, which means that it is for our benefit.

The Lord does not live in time, which means that yesterday, today, and tomorrow are all the same to Him, and this is something that we do not understand other than in theory.  When we come to realise that time is on our side and that time is our friend we can then stop fighting God and walk with Him in His timing.  I believe that the lack of understanding of time is hurting the body of Christ.  For some of us, we take time for granted while others of us abuse time because we have not become friends with time.  If time is something that the Lord has put in place, then it must be more then just a clock on the wall.  It has to be living.

I find that time is something that we fight with because of lack of understanding.  We know that the Lord created time and that He does not live in time, but at the same time He talks to us in time.  If we look at time as something that is living, then there is grace in trying to understand, but if we look at time as something that just seems to be there, then time will only be something that we live by.  Time is always moving no matter what we do.  If we fight it, then time will seem very long, but if we learn to love it, then it will bring us closer to the one that created it.

For me, learning time is crucial, because I am one that wants to walk in the fullness of the Lord right now.  I want to walk hand in hand at all times and be able to see Him anytime I want.  I am talking about face to face.  To smell is breath because He is that close.  What I have found it takes much time to get to this place because I am not ready to be in this position because I am not prepared.  There are things to learn before one can get that close.  There is a significant cost that needs to be paid and most do not want to pay the cost.  So in paying the cost, we need time to go by so that we can get ready for the fullness and not just a touch that gives us goosebumps.

walking with angels

Picture

To work with the angels, we have to be walking with the angels, and this starts by recognising that they are part of God's Kingdom.  For some people, this is already a reality, but others have not yet given any thought to this.  The scriptures are full of the angelic and give us a lot of details about what they do and how some of them look.  I am not going to get into that. Instead, I would say to go and read the Bible as this would be a fun topic to study.

When walking close to angels, I start by thanking God that they are part of my life and asking Him what I can do to help them fulfil their role in my life instead of fighting them.  Fighting them is working against them rather than with them!  Through many of my encounters with the angels, I began to learn very quickly that we spend a great deal of time-fighting them: first because we do not know they are working for us and second because we do not see their roles in our lives.  Every time we honour them for what they are doing around us we bring glory to God for what He has created.  We do not worship the angels, but giving honour is respecting the angels for what they do, even though we might not see what they are doing.

Having a good prayer life is key to walking with the angels.  The angels are the ones who do all the work in the Spirit realm, and when we pray, it’s the angels that have released this in the Spirit.  They act upon our prayers and know if what we are praying is pure or soulish, and is also true when we prophesy, but that is another topic for a later date.  If we pay attention when we are praying, and we can feel the presence of God, then there are times when we can feel or sense a light touch on our shoulder, back or head.  When this is happening, it’s your guardian angel ministering to you.  If you think this is happening, do not forget to thank your guarding angel afterwards for fulfilling their role?  They have feelings like us, and even they like to be acknowledged once in a while.

times and seasons

Picture

The Lord is pressing on my spirit to make sure that we as the body of Christ know the times and seasons we live in.    Do you know the times and seasons we are in?  Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for knowing what the weather would be but not understanding the times and seasons which have eternal value. (Matt 16:3)

First, let’s take a moment to look at what times and seasons are.  For many of you this is not new, but for a few, it will not be. Understanding times and seasons knows what God is doing in the now.  If we look back through time, you can see the many different times and seasons that the church has gone through, which will also give us a better biblical and spiritual understanding of times and seasons.

Understanding times and seasons are two-fold.  First, there is your personal life and what God is doing with that.  The second is what God is doing on the Earth, which is bringing the fullness of His Kingdom.

Let’s look at our personal life first.  Do you know where you are at on God’s timetable?  I wrote on this in “Timing of God,” and if you have not read it, you might want to go and check it out.  God has us all in different spots in our lives, and we need to be ok with that.  Some are ready to take the front lines and move the Kingdom of God forward while others are being taken out of the front lines and being stripped so that they can move to a deeper level.  Where you are at is important, and you need to be ok with that and work with God to continue to move forward instead of fighting Him and wanting to be somewhere else.  Remember that relationship with God is number one and without that, we do not have very much to stand on when the winds begin to blow, which are the hard times.

Now let’s look at what God is doing on the Earth.  God has been preparing His Body for a great harvest, and if we are to see what God has been doing in our individual lives, we will see that many are being prepared to be a part of this great harvest.  God needs as many labours as He can get to bring in as many souls as can be gathered, which will look very different than the past.  Many of the people who will come into the Kingdom we might not think should be a part of it, but God makes that call.

The significant things God is doing and on a personal level is a season of a breakthrough for those who need it in any area of their life.  It is a time to wash ourselves, clean with the Blood of the Lamb and push through into the areas that God has called us to walk in, with the purpose of fulfilling the Kingdom of God.

There are times and seasons for everything (Ecc 3:1) and making sure we are in the right season with God and on His timetable is essential right now.  If we are not in the proper season or on His timeline, then we will miss what God is about to do on the Earth, and watch from the sidelines will not be great.

friend of god

Picture

I had an encounter with The Father not long ago where I found myself walking with The Father on a long beach.  When I looked across the water I could not see land.  It felt like I was walking on a sandy beach beside the ocean but I knew that I was in the Spirit, and in the Spirit, the ocean or sea represents the nations.  As I was walking The Father began to speak what it meant to be a Friend of God.  Before I go on I want to give a bit of insight on my walk or let’s say relationship, with the Godhead.  The revelation I am receiving determines whom I see.  I see the Father as an older looking man like in the book of Daniel.  I will see Jesus as a younger man in His thirties, and the Holy Spirit as a young boy.  Yet they are all one and the same.  That’s what makes God so Great.

Now back to my encounter.  As we were walking The Father was talking to me directly, but also putting a call out in the Spirit to others who wanted to move to a new level within their walk with God.  Meaning that this revelation is not just for me but also for the nations (walking by the ocean). This call will look different for many; for some, it will come through a prophetic invitation from someone prophesying, for others it will be a vision or dream, but for most, it will be the small sweet voice of Holy Spirit.  It will require a response and will lead most into a very different walk with God than one is used to.

While walking along this beach He began to speak on what being a Friend of God looks and feels like.  He stated that it is much the same as having a best friend here on Earth.  One who you can walk close with and share your heart and secrets without feeling judged or having to worry that they will be shared with others.  This is what the Father is desiring from us, but let’s be honest many will find this type of walk with the Father too hard to walk for any length of time.  This type of walk leads one into a great level of intimacy - without the touch.  What He has shown me is that being a Friend of God is very different than being a Lover of God (which I will write on later in a different section).  Both will have you dripping with Love for God but the Friend will go without the hype, glory, bling, shaking, or being overwhelmed with the presence of The Father, and much more.

Being a Friend of God means walking side-by-side and face-to-face with the Father.  You will learn many of His secrets and truths that you might never ever speak out loud, which can be very difficult because we love to share the things that God has been showing us.  The hardest thing I want to point out with this type of walk is being void of being driven by feeling.  Yes, you will feel but for the most part, you will stand face-to-face with the Father and not feel anything.  It will still feel like you are standing on Earth in front of a friend.  That is the big difference to being a Lover of God who feels everything in the Spirit.  Both have their roles but are called to have very different walks.  If you are a feeler and are moved by feeling you might not consider this type of walk unless God makes it clear to you.  I want to make something really clear; these types of walks can only come through an invitation from God, but the invitation comes because of a deep hunger in our spirit to see God and walk with Him in a face-to-face relationship.

When I first encountered God I became a Lover of God and loved all the different encounters within my emotional makeup, but after some time it began to disappear.  I thought for the longest time that I had fallen in sin or angered God.  Yet I knew He did not cut me off because I was still having encounters and visions on a regular occurrence, but there were no feelings or emotions to go with them.  It has taken me eight years to come to terms with this, and once I did then the Father brought the understanding I was looking for to explain the reason on this, and the difference between Friend and Lover.  One is not better than the other they are different and created for different reasons.  We need to stop and make sure we are pursuing what God has called us to do and not what others are doing around us.

God is calling ones to say yes to being a Friend of God, which is a lifestyle, not something you do once in while and then leave it because you are bored or things did not turn out the way you thought it should.  I do need to say this; once you have encountered God at this level it will change everything you know, both within Church and the Market Place.  At the time of writing this, it has been ten years since the Father asked me to be a Friend and leave everything else behind.  Of course, I said yes at the time but I truly did not know what I was saying yes to.  I will say it has been the hardest thing I have done.  Being able to see the Father face-to-face on a daily basis does not make life easier it actually makes it harder, but I would not trade it in for anything.

I love my walk with the Godhead.

Do you?
