I need to be honest right up front. This is not a subject that I would have written about, but the Lord keeps pressing my spirit and speaking to me about writing on the subject of death. This is a topic that many do not like to discuss and have a real hard time with, yet we need to be able to talk about this subject much more openly than we do.
One never knows how they will react to death until they lose someone close to them through death. Many are afraid of death or dying, and cannot even handle talking about it. We as Christians should not be fearful of death, and if we are then, we need to go to the Lord on this topic and allow Him to help us deal with the fear in us.
If we look back at the Garden where we were initially created to live, there was no death, which is why we do not handle death very well because we were not designed for death, but for life. God even says that He is the God of the living, not of the dead. (Mk 12:27)
Let me share with you a few things the Lord taught me when I first started walking with Him. He spoke to me about my time here on Earth being only an introduction to life, and that what I do here determines what I do for the rest of my life in the Spirit, meaning heaven or hell. This is a choice we all have to make. When we decide to walk with God and choose His ways and have given our lives to Him, then we choose the path of life, which leads to no death. Instead, it leads to passing from one state into another. But if one does not want to follow God then they are choosing the path which does lead to death, and they will end up in a holding cell in hell until the last judgment. The choice is ours to make; no one can make it for us, and we cannot make it for anyone else. This is not something that God takes lightly, or He would not have sent His Son to die on the cross for us.
Most have experienced loss of a human friend or relative to natural death, so, for the most part, we know how that feels. Avoid enters into our lives that we do not know what to do with. It takes a long time of grieving before we learn to live our life on this earth with this void because honestly the void never goes away. The best way to let the void be filled is with The Lord. I know these are only words but the truth of that will make the difference in ones’ life. So let’s make sure that we choose life, and prepare ourselves for the transition from natural life to spiritual life, which happens to have physical death in between.
Timothy, author and friend of God, shares out of a place of daily walking face-to-face with the Lord, encountering both the angelic and the saints of old, seeing and understanding things from a heavenly perspective.
