4/12/2017 0 Comments friend of godI had an encounter with The Father not long ago where I found myself walking with The Father on a long beach. When I looked across the water I could not see land. It felt like I was walking on a sandy beach beside the ocean but I knew that I was in the Spirit, and in the Spirit, the ocean or sea represents the nations. As I was walking The Father began to speak what it meant to be a Friend of God. Before I go on I want to give a bit of insight on my walk or let’s say relationship, with the Godhead. The revelation I am receiving determines whom I see. I see the Father as an older looking man like in the book of Daniel. I will see Jesus as a younger man in His thirties, and the Holy Spirit as a young boy. Yet they are all one and the same. That’s what makes God so Great. Now back to my encounter. As we were walking The Father was talking to me directly, but also putting a call out in the Spirit to others who wanted to move to a new level within their walk with God. Meaning that this revelation is not just for me but also for the nations (walking by the ocean). This call will look different for many; for some, it will come through a prophetic invitation from someone prophesying, for others it will be a vision or dream, but for most, it will be the small sweet voice of Holy Spirit. It will require a response and will lead most into a very different walk with God than one is used to. While walking along this beach He began to speak on what being a Friend of God looks and feels like. He stated that it is much the same as having a best friend here on Earth. One who you can walk close with and share your heart and secrets without feeling judged or having to worry that they will be shared with others. This is what the Father is desiring from us, but let’s be honest many will find this type of walk with the Father too hard to walk for any length of time. This type of walk leads one into a great level of intimacy - without the touch. What He has shown me is that being a Friend of God is very different than being a Lover of God (which I will write on later in a different section). Both will have you dripping with Love for God but the Friend will go without the hype, glory, bling, shaking, or being overwhelmed with the presence of The Father, and much more. Being a Friend of God means walking side-by-side and face-to-face with the Father. You will learn many of His secrets and truths that you might never ever speak out loud, which can be very difficult because we love to share the things that God has been showing us. The hardest thing I want to point out with this type of walk is being void of being driven by feeling. Yes, you will feel but for the most part, you will stand face-to-face with the Father and not feel anything. It will still feel like you are standing on Earth in front of a friend. That is the big difference to being a Lover of God who feels everything in the Spirit. Both have their roles but are called to have very different walks. If you are a feeler and are moved by feeling you might not consider this type of walk unless God makes it clear to you. I want to make something really clear; these types of walks can only come through an invitation from God, but the invitation comes because of a deep hunger in our spirit to see God and walk with Him in a face-to-face relationship. When I first encountered God I became a Lover of God and loved all the different encounters within my emotional makeup, but after some time it began to disappear. I thought for the longest time that I had fallen in sin or angered God. Yet I knew He did not cut me off because I was still having encounters and visions on a regular occurrence, but there were no feelings or emotions to go with them. It has taken me eight years to come to terms with this, and once I did then the Father brought the understanding I was looking for to explain the reason on this, and the difference between Friend and Lover. One is not better than the other they are different and created for different reasons. We need to stop and make sure we are pursuing what God has called us to do and not what others are doing around us. God is calling ones to say yes to being a Friend of God, which is a lifestyle, not something you do once in while and then leave it because you are bored or things did not turn out the way you thought it should. I do need to say this; once you have encountered God at this level it will change everything you know, both within Church and the Market Place. At the time of writing this, it has been ten years since the Father asked me to be a Friend and leave everything else behind. Of course, I said yes at the time but I truly did not know what I was saying yes to. I will say it has been the hardest thing I have done. Being able to see the Father face-to-face on a daily basis does not make life easier it actually makes it harder, but I would not trade it in for anything. I love my walk with the Godhead. Do you?
